2020 Vespa VXL & SXL Facelift Range Launched In India

Piaggio has launched the 2020 facelifts models of Vespa VXL & Vespa SXL range scooters along with newly updated disc brake-equipped Aprilia Storm 125. All of these Piaggio two-wheelers were first unveiled during the Auto Expo 2020.

While we have already done an article about the Aprilia Storm 125, this particular article intends to brief the details about the updated Vespa cousins.

The Vespa range of scooters retails at a premium introductory price of Rs 1.10 Lakhs for the 125 cc variant of the Vespa VXL. The 150 cc engine of the SXL variant is the highest priced Vespa offering retailing at the price of Rs 1.27 Lakhs.

Online Booking options available 

Vespa provides the buyers with the option of conveniently booking their Vespa online on its e-commerce platform shop.vespaindian.com. Piaggio is also offering benefits worth Rs 2,000 for booking Vespa online, this not only will provide the buyers with the utility of a contactless experience but also will keep the number of potent buyers visiting Piaggio outlets under check.

Features

The prominent features that are offered with the Vespa scooters include petal designed alloys, crystal illumination LED Headlamps, daytime Running bright LEDs, USB mobile charging ports and a storage light under the seat. 

As a part of the safety package, both the Vespa scooters are also equipped with advanced Anti-lock braking system and twin pot calliper disc brakes.

Underpinnings

Both the Vespa VXL and SXL will continue to feature a Monocoque Full Body construction underneath. As far as suspension is concerned, they feature a hydraulic single side arm in the front and dual effect hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.

The Vespa scooters get a 110/70 section tyre at the front, 11” in size and a wider 120/70 section 10” tyre at the rear. Stopping duties are handled by a disc brake (200mm) at the front and a drum brake at the rear with single-channel ABS for the 150cc models and CBS for the 125cc models. 

Rivals

Vespa range have always been known for their classy looks. The scooter range is not meant to please the masses and hence retails at a significant price premium over the other 125cc scooters in India. There are no direct rival in its price bracket. However, the Aprilia range of scooters can be considered its competitors.
