Buying A Car Soon? Upcoming Car Launches In September 2026

The first two months of Q3 2026 generated significant buzz with some major reveals and long-awaited new models. However, if you think the excitement is over, you’re mistaken. The final month of the third quarter will also see a range of exciting vehicles, spanning everything from mass-market cars to premium electric models. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the cars set to be launched or unveiled in September 2026: –

Kia Sorento

Unveiled last week, the Kia Sorento will be the first model to launch in September 2026. It will serve as Kia’s new flagship ICE SUV in India, offering both strong-hybrid petrol and diesel powertrain options. That said, it will also be Kia’s first model in India to get a strong-hybrid powertrain.

Measuring over 4.8 litres in length, the Kia Sorento will be a three-row offering, which will be positioned against the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Jeep Meridian. Its pre-launch bookings are already underway both online and offline. We expect Kia to price it in the ballpark of Rs 30-35 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

The second-gen Maruti Suzuki Baleno is all set to get its first mid-life facelift update. Going by the spy shots, the Baleno Facelift is expected to get a redesigned front fascia, featuring a new grille with a horizontal bar in the centre connecting the LED headlamps. It will also get newly designed bumpers at both ends and redesigned alloy wheels. However, the taillights are expected to remain unchanged.

Inside, it is expected to boast a new cabin theme, with revised upholstery and a host of new features.

Underneath the hood, this Tata Altroz-rivalling hatchback is likely to continue with the same powertrain options as the current model, including a 90PS, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine offered with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

BMW 7 Series Facelift and i7 Facelift

Earlier this month, BMW commenced bookings for the facelifted 7 Series and i7 flagship sedans. Globally, these sedans have received several meaningful design, features and mechanical upgrades, and the same are expected in their India-bound versions as well. That said, the 7 Series facelift will continue with its 3.0-litre straight-six engines, albeit with enhanced outputs. On the other hand, i7 is also likely to get a larger 112.4kWh battery instead of the existing 101.7kWh unit. Charging speed is also likely to be improved.

Porsche Cayenne Electric

  • Unveil Date: September 30

Porsche announced prices for the Cayenne Electric last year, with the Standard variant priced at Rs 1.77 crore, and the range-topping Turbo Electric at Rs 2.27 crore (ex-showroom). The SUV is now set for its physical showcase in the country.

For those unaware, the new Porsche Cayenne Electric uses a 113kWh battery pack, paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
