The 120th Anniversary edition Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have been specially conceptualized and handcrafted by the company’s teams across the UK and India in such a way that defines Royal Enfield’s rich and renowned legacy of over a century.

The special edition Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 get a special black-chrome tank color scheme that has been developed in-house with Royal Enfield's industry-leading chroming technology. They also feature handcrafted, die-cast brass badges on either side of the fuel tank, made in collaboration with the 'Sirpi Senthil' family, a multi-generational artisan from the temple town of Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India. Particularly specialized in making the classic brass effigies for the most revered temples in India for centuries, this is the first time that these artisans have collaborated with any automotive brand.

Furthermore, both of the models also boast hand-painted pinstripes and 120 years of Special Edition badging on the fuel tank & side panel. The tank top badge highlight a unique serial number of each motorcycle indicating that it is one of the 60 unique motorcycles of that particular region. Additionally, RE has also embellished the engine, silencer, and other elements of the motorcycles in a harmonious matt black scheme.

These limited edition models have also been equipped with brown seats and a range of RE's genuine accessories such as flyscreens, engine guards, heel guards, touring and bar-end mirrors, etc.

Powering the limited edition 650 twins are the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine as their standard counterpart, which produces 47PS at 7,150 rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. Suspension, brakes, and other parts & features have been retained from the standard model as well.

Speaking on the launch, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. said –

Few brands can celebrate the kind of legacy and history that Royal Enfield has enjoyed over the last century and a lot of this legacy is from the immense love the brand has received from riders through the ages. There was simply no better way of celebrating this milestone than sharing a piece of it with our consumers around the world. We are delighted to bring the 120th Anniversary Edition 650 Twin motorcycles to enthusiasts around the world, and share the brand’s legacy with them. Both the Interceptor and the Continental GT are hugely successful around the world today, as they were in the 1960’s, and truly represent our heritage of making simple and enjoyable motorcycles.
