Maruti Suzuki Arena Models Get 'Suzuki Connect' Internet Car Technology

Maruti Suzuki has introduced its telematic-based connected car technology, the Suzuki Connect for its Arena range of models that includes models like Alto, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Vitara Brezza and Ertiga. Earlier, this tech was only available with the Nexa range of vehicles – Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and S-Cross.

Suzuki Connect is essentially an advanced telematics solution that uses a the Telematics Control Unit (TCU), which transfers information through cellular network with a centralized cloud-based server connected with the customer through Smartphone App and offers features like vehicle security alerts like anti-theft and tow-away notifications, geo-fencing (creates a virtual geographic boundary for the vehicle), live vehicle location tracking, live vehicle status (allows to check the status of headlights, AC, ignition, odometer and fuel level, etc), Find My Car, driving analysis (based on factors like acceleration, braking, speed, sharp turns), and access emergency roadside assistance, etc.

Maruti Suzuki Arena owners can have Suzuki Connect facility as a genuine Maruti accessory for Rs 11,900 (inclusive of taxes) along with a three-year complimentary subscription. On the other hand, existing Nexa customers can renew their subscription for three years at Rs 2,299 and for one year at Rs 999.
