Creon Concept-based TVS X Electric Scooter Launched

After tons of teasers, TVS Motor Company has finally revealed its Creon concept-based electric scooter, the X, in Dubai. It has been priced at Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It doesn’t attract the govt’s FAME-2 subsidy scheme. Enthusiastic customers can now proceed to book it online.

Power, Battery and Range

  • TVS has equipped X with a mid-mounted PMSM motor, producing a continuous power output of 7kW and a peak power output of 11 kW. The motor is cooled using segment first’s pressurised air from the ram air intake.
  • The electric motor comes paired with a 3.8kWh lithiumion battery pack that claims an IDC range of up to 140 kilometres on a single charge.
  • Riders can choose between three riding modes: XTEALTH (for urban commute), XTRIDE (sport mode), and XONIC (to experience the power at its fullest). The latter can clock the 0 to 40 kmph mark in just 2.6 seconds and is good for 105 kmph.
  • TVS asserts that due to its Naturally Aspirated Thermal Management of Energy Control (NATMEC), the X can maintain its performance and prevent overheating even during extended periods of high-speed usage.

Charging Time

Using a 950W home charger, the TVS Entorq can be charged 0-80% in 3 hrs 40 mins. However, with the help of a 3kW fast charger, it can be charged 50% in just 50 minutes.

Design

  • The all-new X is based on the TVS’ new XLETON platform, which is essentially a high-strength aluminium alloy frame that ensures a good balance between performance and durability. It is claimed to boast one of the highest stiffness-to-weight ratios in its class (2.5 times more than a standard scooter).
  • Design-wise, the new TVS scooter sports a very sharp & angular design language. Its front apron exudes a brawny and sporty vibe akin to the design featured in the Creon concept. Notably, it incorporates a vertical LED headlamp at its centre, giving it a contemporary appeal.
  • It gets a digital rider’s cluster that pops out of the handlebar, giving a sporty feel. Additionally, the e-scooter boasts a sportier split seat and sharp-looking grab rail.

  • Against the measuring tape, the TVS X boasts a wheelbase of 1285mm, along with a ground clearance of 175mm. Its seat height measures 770mm from the ground.
  • It offers a storage space of 19 litres.
