The Volkswagen Tayron R Line has finally made its way to the Indian market via the CBU route. The full-size 7-seater SUV is available in a single, fully loaded variant, priced at Rs 46.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is essentially an elongated version of the VW Tiguan with slightly revised design cues that make it stand apart from its 5-door version.
Same Engine As The Tiguan
At the heart of the Tayron R Line is a 2-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI petrol engine, which is tuned to generate a maximum power output of 204PS and a peak torque of 320Nm. The power is sent to all the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
VW claims the Tayron R-Line can complete the 0 to 100 kmph run in just 7.3 seconds before attaining an electronically limited top speed of 224 kmph.
