Volkswagen Tayron Life 5 Seater SUV Launched In India: Price, Features & More

After introducing the Tayron R-Line in February 2026, Volkswagen has now launched the lower-spec Tayron Life 5-seater SUV in India, priced from Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s everything you need to know about it: –

Variant Price (ex-showroom)
Volkswagen Tayron LifeRs 41.99 lakh
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Rs 46.99 lakh

As the table above shows, the new Tayron Life is Rs 5 lakh more affordable than the R-Line variant. For this price difference, the Life variants miss out on the sporty visual enhancements and the third-row seats, which you get in the R-Line variant.

What Powers The Volkswagen Tayron Life?

Powering the Volkswagen Tayron Life variant is the same 2-litre turbocharged variant as the R-Line model that produces identical peak outputs of 204PS and 320Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels of the SUV by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

Volkswagen Tayron Life: Exterior Design

The Tayron Life looks largely similar to the R-Line variant, except for a few distinct differences. That said, it skips the sporty styling package offered with the R-Line variant. It also gets a simpler & curvier design for the bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels that are an inch smaller, measuring 18 inches. However, the overall silhouette and proportions, along with bits like projector LED headlamps with connected light bar & an illuminated brand logo, wheel arch cladding, roof rails, and connected LED tail lamps, remain identical to the Tayron R-Line.

Speaking of the dimensions, the Tayron is 4,792mm long, 1,853mm wide and 1,666mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,789mm. The SUV offers 885 litres of boot space for your luggage.

Colour Options

Volkswagen is offering the Tayron Life in seven colour options: –

  • Grenadilla Black
  • Dolphin Grey
  • Ultraviolet
  • Nightshade Blue
  • Orxy White
  • Oyster Silver
  • Cipressino Green

Interior and Features

Unlike the all-black treatment in Tayron R-Line, the Tayron Life gets a beige headline, along with a new dual-tone black and grey upholstery scheme for a fresher appeal. The dashboard layout also remains unchanged, featuring a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster. However, a major change inside is that the Tayron Life is available only as a 5-seater, whereas the third row is limited to the ‘R-Line’ variant.

Even the list of other safety and creature comforts between the two variants is mostly identical, which comprises rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, two wireless smartphone charging pads, ambient lighting, sports pedals, three-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with ventilation & massaging functions, paddle shifters, Harman Kardon sound system (11 speakers replaced with an 8-speaker unit) 9 airbags, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic differential lock, an electronic parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS suite.

Rivals

The Volkswagen Tayron Life serves as a direct competitor to the Skoda Kodiaq Lounge, which is also a 5-seater alternative to the higher-positioned 7-seater trims.
