Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition Launched At Rs 10 Lakh

Soon after launching the Skoda Rapid Matt Edition, its sibling brand Volkswagen has now launched the Polo Matt Edition at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, it has become the segment's first car to get a matt color option straight from the factory.

Based on the GT TSI trim, the Polo Matt Edition is priced exactly the same as its donor variant. However, it is Rs 25,000 more expensive than the Highline Plus AT variant. Interested customers can book the limited-edition hatch at Rs 5,000.

Volkswagen Polo Matt Edition – What's New?

As the name suggests, the Polo Matt Edition purely comes with cosmetic additions. It gets a matt grey exterior paint with contrasting gloss-black inserts on the ORVMs, door handles, rear bumper skirt, and spoiler. It also features matt-grey finished 'GT TSI' badging on the C-pillar. However, its V-spoke silver alloy wheels remain unchanged.

The interior of the Polo Matt Edition also remains the same, featuring the outdated black-and-grey dashboard that seriously needs an update. Besides, it also retains all equipment as the regular GT trim, including a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MirrorLink support, auto climate control, rear AC vent, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, footwell lamps, auto-dimming IRVM, a multi-info display, keyless entry, etc. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert system, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, and hill hold control.

Powering the VW Polo Matt Edition is the same 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine as the GT TSI that generates 110PS of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

In the Indian market, the VW Polo takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, and Toyota Glanza.
