Powering the Indian-spec VW Golf GTI will be the 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that produces a stunning power output of 265 PS and a peak torque of 370 Nm, enabling this hot-hatch to hit the century mark in just 5.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 kmph.

We expect Volkswagen to price the Golf GTI somewhere around Rs 40 – 45 lakh (ex-showroom) range, positioning it against the likes of Mini Cooper S.
