Upgraded Ford EcoSport To Launch In October 2021

Ford is all set to give the EcoSport yet another facelift update. If rumors are to be believed, the brand is expected to launch the refreshed sub-4m SUV by the end of October 2021. The facelifted EcoSport will receive a host of cosmetical changes and possibly a few new features. And thanks to the multiple spy shots, we have a fair idea about the 2021 EcoSport's exterior design.

For starters, the new EcoSport will get a new front grille with chrome and a piano black surround. The lower half portion of the front bumper will feature a wider central air dam, a redesigned skid plate, and refreshed fog lamp housing with L-shaped LED DRLs cum indicators around it.

The side & rear profile of the SUV will remain unchanged, except for the newly designed dual-spoke machined alloy wheels and skid plate on the rear bumper. Besides, the brand will also offer it with a new Orange color paint scheme. Inside, changes are likely to be quite minimal in the form of refreshed upholstery and an upgraded infotainment system.

In all likelihood, the new Ford EcoSport will proceed with the same 1.5-liter petrol (122PS/149Nm) and 1.5-liter diesel engines (100PS/215Nm) as the current model. However, the diesel motor could get a new 6-speed manual transmission instead of the existing 5-speed unit. This will help to increase its fuel efficiency on the motorways. On the other hand, the gasoline mill will continue to be available with the choice of a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as before.

Currently, the Ford EcoSport is available in six variants: Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+, SE, and Sports, which are priced from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 11.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its upgraded model could receive a slight price premium over the ongoing model. Once launched, it will rekindle its competition with the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and Honda WR-V.
