Upcoming Toyota Cars In India – New Glanza, Urban Cruiser, Belta, and More

Toyota Kirloskar Motors has kick-started the year 2022 with the launch of the Camry facelift and Hilux lifestyle pickup truck. Now, reports are suggesting that the brand has lined up five new models for the ongoing year. Here’s a quick overview of all the upcoming Toyota cars planned for 2022 in India: –

Toyota Glanza Facelift

As the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Baleno is set to go on sale tomorrow, Toyota is also preparing up revamped Glanza that will get similar sort of updates as its donor model. These include a revised front grille, tweaked bumpers, and updated LED lighting. However, compared to the ongoing model, the 2022 Toyota Glanza is likely to get more visual differences for the new Baleno.

In terms of features, the updated Glanza is likely to get the same equipment list as the new Baleno. That means it will also get a larger 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, rear AC vents, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, up to 6-airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and much more.

It is likely to be launched in the coming months.

New-Gen Toyota Urban Cruiser

Similar to the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the Toyota Urban Cruiser will also get a generation update this year. Leaked spy shots of the new Vitara Brezza have already confirmed that it will get completely overhauled front & rear profiles along with a newly designed interior. In fact, it will also get a sunroof this time.

Toyota Belta and Rumion

Launched overseas last year, the Toyota Belta and Rumion are essentially the rebadged versions of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan and Ertiga MPV, respectively. Both models are likely to arrive at the end of 2022 or in early 2023.

All-new mid-size SUV

If reports are to be believed, Toyota is building an all-new mid-size SUV that will be shared with Maruti Suzuki as well. It is likely to be underpinned on a new architecture based on the Daihatsu-sourced modular platform called DNGA. While details about this Creta rivaling SUV are still under the wraps, it is likely to get a strong hybrid system.
