Unlocking the Details: Mahindra XUV.e8 (XUV700 Electric), Be.09 Battery and Range Exposed

In August 2022, we caught a glimpse of the initial concept version of the all-electric Mahindra XUV700, dubbed the Mahindra XUV.e8. Just over a year later, test mules of the electric SUV have begun to make appearances on our roads. Now, we have got some insightful details about the XUV.e8 and the Be lineup from a trusted source.

  • Mahindra will build these EVs on its new INGLO modular platform.
  • The XUV.e8, Be.05, and Be.09 will have a 79.5kWh battery pack, boasting a claimed range of up to 545km. However, under real-world conditions, the Be.09 is expected to offer a range of close to 375 kilometres.

  • Conversely, our source disclosed that the XUV.e8 might offer approximately 250 kilometres during peak summers with the air conditioning set to full mode. However, these numbers are expected to be improved in the production-spec version.
  • These models may also be introduced with a smaller battery pack, probably a 60kWh unit.
  • Regarding charging, the Be.09 will support DC fast charging of up to 240 kW, while the XUV.e8 will be having fast-charging capabilities of up to 180 kW.

  • The steering wheel will also have a boost mode, along with paddle shifters to adjust the regen braking levels.
  • All of these models will get a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera setup.
  • All these EVs will also feature Mahindra’s new logo with loses sharp edges, merging the iconic “M” with an infinity loop.

We anticipate the Mahindra XUV.e8 to hit the market by late 2024. Positioned as a premium offering, its main competitor will be the BYD Atto 3.
