Tata Nexon Becomes More Affordable With New Entry-Level Smart (O) Variant

Tata Nexon offers diverse variants, and now the carmaker has expanded its offering even further by introducing three new variants: Smart (O) petrol, Smart Plus diesel, and Smart Plus S diesel. With the launch of these new variants, not only have the diesel options become more economical, but the base price of the Nexon has also been slashed to Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Below are the prices of the newly introduced variants: –

  • The new Nexon Smart (O) variant is up to Rs 16,000 more affordable than the Smart petrol trim, whereas the Smart Plus diesel trim commands a premium of Rs 79,000 over its petrol-only counterpart.
  • Tata is yet to reveal the price of the new Smart Plus S diesel variant.
  • With the launch of the new Smart Plus diesel variant, the diesel variants are now more affordable by up to Rs 1.11 lakh. Earlier, the Pure trim was the base model for Nexon diesel.
Tata Nexon Smart(O) price
  • Speaking of the features, the new entry-level Smart (O) variant doesn’t have an infotainment system. However, features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, front power windows and tilt-adjustable steering are available.
  • In contrast, the Smart Plus variant of the Nexon boasts a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 4-speaker sound system, and all four power windows. Moreover, the Smart Plus S variant is equipped with a single-pane sunroof, automatic headlights, and rain-sensing wipers.
  • Safety features on these variants include 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors.
  • Powering the Tata Nexon Smart range of variants is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol (120PS/170Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel (115PS/260Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
  • Regarding competition, it takes on the likes of Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
