Front Drum

Front Disc

The heart of the TVS Raider is an all-new 124.8cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that makes out 11.38PS at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm. Paired to a 5-speed transmission, it is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 67kmpl.

TVS has also offered the Raider with the segment's first riding modes – Eco and Power. While the Eco mode limits the engine to 7000rpm, it is claimed to deliver 3 percent more fuel efficiency than Power mode thanks to the idling stop-start system. On the other hand, the Power mode has no restriction and offers 0.4-second quicker acceleration from 0-60kmph before attaining a top speed of 99kmph.

This engine is housed in a split single-downtube frame that uses a telescopic fork and a gas-charged 5-step pre-load adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of by either a 240mm disc or a 130mm drum brake at the front end and a 130mm drum at the rear, assisted by the Combined Braking System (CBC). The other specifications of the motorcycle are as follows: –

Seat Height

780mm

Wheelbase

1,326mm

Fuel Tank Capacity

10-litres

Wheels

17-inch alloy wheels

Kerb Weight

123kg

In terms of design, the TVS Raider looks quite aggressive thanks to its quirky Bumblebee-like front facia, beefier fuel tank with muscular extensions, sporty engine cowl, and split seat setup. It comes equipped with a LED headlamp with twin C-shaped DRLs, LED tail lamps, bulb-type indicators, a wide single-piece handlebar, and a storage compartment under the pillion seat.

Besides, there's also a USB charger, side-stand engine cut-off feature, and an LCD instrument cluster that displays a plethora of information like the gear position, service reminder, low fuel indication, trip info, clock, side-stand indication, etc. TVS has announced that they will soon introduce an optional TFT screen for the Raider that will come with TVS’ SmartXonnect Bluetooth module.

In the 125cc segment, the TVS Raider go up against the Honda SP 125 (Rs 78,381 – Rs 82,677), Hero Glamour (Rs 78,900 – Rs 83,500) and the Bajaj Pulsar 125 (Rs 77,843 – Rs 84,173).
