Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella Revealed; Brand’s First Electric Vehicle For India

Toyota has finally unveiled its first pure electric vehicle for the Indian market, called the Urban Cruiser Ebella. Positioned against the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, it is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, with distinct styling, shared powertrain and co-engineered platform.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella – Design

The new Urban Cruiser Ebella features a muscular design similar to some Toyota models sold in global markets. Upfront, it features a ‘Hammerhead’ fascia, featuring sleeker headlamps with integrated pixel-like daytime running lamps. A clean-looking, chunky bumper with a blacked-out air dam and vertical cuts on either side gives it a muscular appeal.

The side profile of the SUV is similar to the Maruti e-Vitara, albeit with a different alloy design.

At the rear, it gets connected LED tail lamps along with a chunky bumper draped in black cladding.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella – Interior and Features

Except for a distinct dual-tone colour scheme, the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV boasts a similar cabin layout to the eVitara, featuring a layered dashboard layout with a connected twin display setup taking the centre stage.

For passengers’ comfort & convenience, it comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, ventilated front-row seats, a powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, a fixed glass roof, slide & recline function for rear seats, connected car tech with i-connected mobile app support, multiple driving modes and a 360-degree camera.

Its safety kit includes seven airbags, TPMS, ESC, hill assist, front & rear parking sensors and a level-2 ADAS.
