Toyota India has reportedly downsized the battery capacity in the strong-hybrid variants of the Hyryder SUV. This development first surfaced through owner discussions on online forums, and later, the brand confirmed the same to Autocar India. The Japanese carmaker claims that this measure has been taken as part of its ongoing product improvement cycle.
For those unaware, the Toyota Hyryder hybrid was originally offered with a 0.76kWh battery pack. However, during the 2025 model update, Toyota reportedly downsized the battery capacity to 0.60 kWh. Nevertheless, the company claims that this does not affect the SUV’s performance and efficiency. It continues to offer the same 115PS of max power and 27.97 km/l ARAI-claimed mileage.
Although the downsized battery hasn’t affected its performance & combined fuel efficiency, the pure electric range will be slightly reduced, and the petrol engine may kick in sooner. But since the strong-hybrid system continuously charges the battery while driving, the overall driving range and real-world usability are unlikely to see any significant impact.
