Toyota is all set to unveil the Hilux pickup truck on January 20, i.e, tomorrow. But ahead of its arrival, the brand has teased its interior in full guise on social media platforms.
The teaser reveals an all-black interior of the Toyota Hilux. At first glance, it looks familiar, considering it borrows a few cues from the Fortuner to keep prices in check. Components such as the multi-function steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, climate control panel, and gear lever are the same as those in the full-size SUV. However, the Japanese carmaker has preserved the design more subtle and understated, which is similar to its European version.
In terms of features, the lifestyle pickup truck will with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, coloured multi-info display, automatic LED headlights & wipers, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat, three drive modes, keyless entry with push-button start, and cruise control.
Passenger safety will be taken care of by up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, a rear-view camera, hill-hold & descent control, and an electronic stability program. An optional Panoramic View Monitoring System (360-degree camera) could also be on offer.
As revealed earlier, the Toyota Hilux pickup will be offered with Fortuner’s 204PS/500Nm diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It will also get a part-time 4X4 transfer system with Active Traction Control and Auto Limited Slip Differential to make it more off-road capable. Click here for more details.
Since the Hilux will be brought via CKD route, we reckon Toyota to price it between Rs 25-30 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go up against the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which currently retails from Rs 19.32 lakh to Rs 25.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
