The Japan Mobility Show 2025 showcased some of the most futuristic and innovative vehicles from around the world, but what caught our attention were the models with an India connection. From India-bound SUVs and EVs to models that are engineered or built in India for global markets, these six cars highlight how deeply India’s automotive industry has become with global mobility trends. Here’s a look at the six standout models from the show that either will hit our shores in the near future or are made-in-India exports: –
1. Honda 0 Alpha
The Honda 0 Alpha is the brand’s entry-point to its new 0 series of electric vehicles that will hit will market in 2027. It will Honda’s first all-electric vehicle in the country that will be locally manufactured and pitted against the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV. It will follow the brand’s new “Thin, Light and Wise” design language. Based on a new skateboard EV platform, the 0 Alpha will be a single-motor, FWD offering, with two LFP battery pack options, likely ranging between 65-75 kWh units.

2. Honda 0 SUV
Based on the Space Hub concept (shown at CES 2024), the Honda 0 SUV will be brought to our shores via the CBU route. Like all other 0 Series EVs, the 0 SUV will also be a software-defined vehicle that will focus on technologies like level-3 automated driving. While technical details are sarce at the moment, Honda has confirmed that it will be offered in both RWD and AWD configurations. It will be offered in multiple battery pack options, sized between 80 to 100 kWh, with an estimated real-world range of over 500 km.

3. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel Version
Suzuki has showcased the Fronx FFV (Flex Fuel Variant) concept at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025 that is expected to arrive in India sometime next year. While exact specifications are still under the wraps, it is capable running on E85 blended fuel (up to 85 percent ethanol blended petrol). This underscores the brand’s readiness to align with the Indian government’s ongoing ethanol blending program, which currently offers E20 petrol and is expected to see higher ethanol blends in the coming years.
Compared to the Indian-spec Fronx, the Fronx FFV also gets a few additional features, including an ADAS suite and an optional AllGrip Select AWD tech. It also gets a more powerful 1.5-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, all these traits are unlikely to be offered in its Indian-spec trim.
4. Maruti Suzuki Victoris CBG

Suzuki has also revealed a Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) variant of the recently-launched Victoris at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. It is essentially a tweaked version of the ongoing 1.5-litre petrol engine to run on this greener, sustainable fuel.
For those unaware, CBG is actually a renewable, more eco-friendly alternative to the CNG that is produced by processing biodegradable waste, such as cattle dung, food waste, agricultural residue, etc. The waste undergoes anaerobic digestion process which produces bigas. CBG is generally used in vehicles designed for CNG.
Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 450 crore in renewable energy initiatives in India, including a biogas plant that commenced operations in 2024 at its Manesar-based facility.
5. Maruti Suzuki eVitara

The eVitara is another big showcase at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. However, it has already been revealed in India and after several delays, it is slated to hit our market in December 2025.

6. Maruti Suzuki Jimny Nomade
The Jimny Nomade is another made-in-India model showcased at the ongoing Japanese show. Based on the 5-door Jimny, it gets a few additional features over the Indian-spec trim, including a level-2 ADAS, heated front seats and blind-spot mirror.
