Tata Tiago EV: Variants Explained

1. Tiago EV XE

Battery Pack Option19.2kWh
Ex-Showroom Price (incl. the 3.3kW AC home charger)Rs 8.49 lakh

Key Features: –

  • Exterior: – 14-inch steel wheels, body-colored bumpers, halogen headlamps, unpainted door handles.
  • Interior: – Dual-tone cabin theme (black & grey), fabric seats, flat-bottom steering wheel, digital instrument cluster.
  • Comfort & Convenience: – Automatic AC, power steering with tilt adjustment function, a front power outlet, and connected car technology with features like geo-fence, vehicle tracking, stolen alert, remote AC on/off, trip analytics, vehicle health, and much more.
  • Safety: – Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, front seatbelt reminder, tire pressure monitoring system, speed-sensing auto door locks, impact sensing auto door unlock, and puncture repair kit.

Verdict: – The pricing of the entry-level XE variant might appeal to you. However, it misses out on various basic features, including power windows and a day/night rear-view mirror. Also, it comes only with a smaller battery pack that claims a range of 250km on a single charge. Considering customer feedback of other Tata EVs, we really doubt this claimed figure. So, we will recommend you avoid this variant.

2. Tiago EV XT

Battery Pack Option19.2kWh24kWh
Ex-Showroom Price
(with 3.3 kW AC home charger)
Rs 9.09 lakhRs 9.99 lakh
Premium Over Previous VariantRs 60,000

Key Features (over the XE trim): –

  • Exterior: – Body-colored door handles, turn indicators on side mirrors, and wheel covers.
  • Comfort & Convenience: – Power windows, day/night IRVM, electrically adjustable outside mirrors with auto-fold function, steering mounted audio & telephony controls, follow-me-headlamp function, and smartwatch connectivity option for connected tech.
  • Infotainment/Entertainment: – 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 4 speakers, FM & USB, incoming SMS notifications & read-outs,

Verdict: – Save for the height-adjustable driver’s seat & rear wiper, the Tata Tiago EV XT variant gets almost all the features that an ordinary person desires in a car. So, you can consider its long-range version. However, skip this variant if you want more comfort & convenience features.

4. Tiago EV XZ+ Tech LUX

Battery Pack Option24kWh
Ex-Showroom PriceRs 11.29 lakh (with 3.3 kW AC home charger)

Key Features (over the XZ+ trim): –

  • Exterior: – Contrast black roof & ORVMs.
  • Interior: – Premium leatherette seat upholstery and leather wrapped steering wheel.
  • Comfort & Convenience: – Electric tailgate release, push-button start.
