Tata Motors has hiked the prices of the Tiago EV for the first time since its launch in September 2022. Earlier, it was priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom), which was applicable only for the first 20,000 customers. Now its prices have been increased by Rs 20,000. All the variants of the Tata Tiago EV have received a uniform price hike of Rs 20,000. With this, the EV now ranges between Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it continues to remain India’s most affordable electric car.
The Tata Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh, offering a claimed range of 250 kms and 315 kms, respectively. Powering the EV is a front-axle mounted PMS motor, tuned differently for both battery packs. The motor paired with the smaller battery pack cranks out 61PS and 110Nm, while the larger motor makes 75PS and 114Nm.
Features on board the Tiago EV include a 7-inch touchscreen system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, automatic AC, digitised instrument cluster, flat-bottom steering wheel, cruise control, multi-regen braking, dual front airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera, and much more. Tata Tiago EV doesn’t have any direct rival in the Indian market. However, it will soon face competition from the upcoming Citroen eC3 cross-hatch.
