Tata Motors has finally confirmed that the facelift version of its highly popular Punch micro-SUV will be launched on January 13th, 2026. It will undergo subtle design changes inside and out, along with a host of new features. Interestingly, the SUV will also receive a turbocharged petrol engine this time.
2026 Tata Punch Facelift – What To Expect?
New Petrol Engine Confirmed
Tata has recently teased the Punch Facelift with a turbocharged engine. While details are still under the wraps, it is expected to get the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the Nexon and Altroz Racer.
Updated Exterior
Revealed by the official teasers, the Punch will receive a completely reworked front facia, featuring a slimmer grille, new LED DRLs, and a new vertically-stacked headlamp cluster similar to the Punch EV. It will also get a larger air dam, along with a redone bumper with a silver faux skid plate; all of these provide the Punch a more aggressive appearance.
Moving on to the sides and rear, it will get new 16-inch alloy wheels, a new connected tail lamp cluster with smoked effect, and a redesigned bumper. The teaser also show the car in a new blue shade, suggesting an updated colour palette as well.

Interior and Features
While we are yet to see the interior layout of the new Tata Punch, it is expected to be slightly revamped to accomodate a larger floating infotainment system. It will also gain a pleathora of new amenities, which could include ventilated front seats, fully digital cluster, a 360-degree camera, along with standard six airbags.

Expected Engine Options
Underneath the hood, the Tata Punch is expected to retain the ongoing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine (88PS/115Nm), paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). The SUV also gets a factory-fitted CNG kit, featuring dual-cylinder technology to ensure you get usable boot space without compromising on the efficiency front.
Price and Rivals
We expect Tata Motors to price the Punch facelift from around Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and select variants of Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
