Tata Nexon Variants Rejigged; Two New Variants Introduced

Tata Motors has axed XZ+ (HS), XZ+ (L) and XZ+ (P) variants from the Nexon’s lineup, along with their Dark Edition, dual tone, and Kaziranga editions. In exchange, the SUV gets new XZ+ LUX and XZ+ LUXS variants, which were previously available exclusively in the EV range of the carmaker. These new trims range from Rs 11.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

The newly introduced XZ+ LUX and XZ+ LUXS variants get all the goodies from the XZ+ variant, along with premium features like ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, wireless charging, air purifier, auto-dimming IRVM, iRA-connected car tech with remote control functions, auto-headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system, and cruise control. The convenience of the electric sunroof is restricted to the XZ+ LUXS trim.

Aside from the rejig, Tata has also increased the prices of the Nexon by up to Rs 15,000. The SUV now ranges between Rs 7.80 lakh to Rs 14.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the mechanics front, the Tata Nexon continues to be propelled by either a 120PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol or a 110PS 1.5-litre diesel engine, both paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. The brand also offers the Nexon with electric powertrains in the form of the Nexon EV Prime with a 30.2kWh battery (312km range) and Nexon EV Max with a 40.5kWh battery (437km range).

In the sub-4m SUV segment, the Tata Nexon is extremely popular and goes up against the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Honda WR-V.
