Tata Harrier, Safari Red Dark Editions To Launch By March 2023

Tata Motors’ lineup for Auto Expo 2023 showcased a wide range of concepts and new models, including the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions. The carmaker has now confirmed that the SUVs will go on sale in March this year.

For those who aren’t aware, both the Tata Harrier and Safari Red Black Edition models pack a host of visual changes and a additional features over the standard model that boost their premium credentials.

Starting with the cosmetical changes, the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari get an all-black exterior finish with red highlights on the grille and brake calipers, while the interior comes dressed in Steel Black theme with contrasting Carnelian red upholstery.

Both the SUVs also receives a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new 7-inch instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a 6-way powered driver seat with memory and welcome function. The Safari Red Dark Edition also receives powered co-passenger seat and power adjustable bose mode. However, the biggest addition comes in the form of and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that includes active safety features like autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, door open alert, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane change alert, and high beam assist. However, the adaptive cruise control is a major miss.

Underneath the hood, both the SUVs are expected to carry forward the same 2.0-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, the carmaker will update the engine to compliant with the upcoming RDE norms. 

Tata Harrier, Safari ed Dark Edition launch timeline

The new Red Dark editions of the Tata Harrier and Safari are expected to demand a significant premium over their current Dark edition models. For reference, the current Dark edition variants of the Tata Harrier range from Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 22.60 lakh, whereas the Safari Dark Edition costs between Rs 19.78 lakh to Rs 23.25 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
