Tata Harrier, Safari Likely To Get A New Colour Option

Tata Motors may soon launch limited-edition variants of the Harrier and the flagship Safari SUV in a new Velvet Green color scheme that will be lighter than the recently discontinued Camo Green shade. They could command a premium of around Rs 30,000 over their corresponding regular color variants.

Reports suggest that these limited-edition variants of Tata Safari and Harrier will be equipped with Black Rhino badges. The interior of these models will come in a dual-tone shade. While it is not official, they could also offer some exclusive accessories packs at an additional cost.

No mechanical changes will be made to any of these Tata SUVs. Both the Harrier and Safari will continue to be powered by the ongoing FCA-sourced 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

In other news, Tata is reportedly working on the petrol iteration of the Harrier and Safari. Both the models are likely to get an in-house developed 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, equipped with a direct-injection (DI) system. It is likely to produce 160PS of max grunt and 250Nm of peak twist.
