Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Takes Over Bentley Operations In India

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has officially added Bentley to its group of brands, making it the sixth marque under its umbrella. Starting from July 2025, SAVWIPL will exclusively take full charge of importing, distributing and servicing Bentley cars across India. The Group also manages the Indian operations of Skoda, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

  • All marketing, sales and after-sales operations will be managed under a newly formed entity called Bentley India.
  • Bentley India will oversee the brand’s overall strategy and retail network in the country.
  • To lead this initiative, Abbey Thomas has been appointed as the brand director of the brand.
  • He will be responsible for steering the brand’s presence and growth in the Indian market.
  • Initially, the Indian subsidiary of this British brand will open three dealerships across key cities, starting with Bengaluru and Mumbai, followed by New Delhi.

Bentley India

Bentley has been present in India for over two decades. However, until now, it did not have a wholly-owned subsidiary in the country. Instead, it relied on authorised dealerships appointed in select cities.

Currently, Bentley has three models on sale in India: Bentayga (Rs 5-6.75 cr), Flying Spur (Rs 5.25-7.60 cr) and Continental (Rs 5.23-8.45 cr).

Commenting on this initiative, Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “Welcoming Bentley into the SAVWIPL family is a proud milestone that completes our portfolio — from the precision of German engineering to the timeless elegance and unmatched performance of British craftsmanship. India’s appetite for uncompromising luxury is growing rapidly. Additionally, Abbey’s deep understanding of the Indian market makes him the ideal leader to steer Bentley India toward new milestones.”
