Simple One Electric Scooter Updated With More Range and Features

Simple Energy has updated its flagship One electric scooter for 2025, offering more range and features than its predecessor. And, interestingly, the scooter continues to be priced at Rs 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom).

2025 Simple One: What’s New?

As mentioned above, the Simple One now claims an improved IDC range of 248 kilometres on a single charger, which is 36 kilometres more than the previous model. This improvement comes from a more efficient drivetrain and some smart electronic updates. It continues to get a 5kWh battery pack, comprising a fixed 3.7kWh unit and a portable 1.3kWh pack. For propulsion duties, it gets a permanent magnet motor, delivering a peak power of 8.5kW (nominal output 4.5kW) and a mighty torque of 72Nm, permitting it to accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds.

The latest update also brings more features for the e-scooter, comprising a tyre pressure monitor, USB charging port and regenerative braking.

Simple Energy also announces plans to open 150 showrooms and 200 service stations by FY26.

Underpinnings and Features

The 2025 Simple One continue to ride on 12-inch alloys, suspended on the telescopic fork and a monoshock. For anchoring, it gets 200mm front and 190mm rear disc brakes, assisted by a Combined Braking System (CBS).

Tipping the scale at 136kg, the Simple One is one of the heaviest electric scooters in its segment. It has a seat height of 775mm, making it very accessible for most passengers.

Regarding features, the One gets amenities like an LED headlamp, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, over-the-air updates, geo-fencing, navigation, riding modes, regen braking, and a massive 30-litre of underseat storage space.

Author’s Take

The Simple One electric scooter has the right elements to succeed in the emerging EV market, especially with its impressive range and advanced features. However, its limited market presence, unfulfilled promises and low sales figures suggest that challenges such as brand recognition, availability, and market readiness still need to be addressed. It is important for Simple Energy to focus on expanding its reach and building customer trust to achieve broader success.
