Simple One Electric Scooter: New Details Emerge

Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy is all set to launch its first electric scooter, the Simple One, on forthcoming Independence Day. And as we are heading towards its launch date, new details about the upcoming e-scooter have started emerging. Here they are: –

  • The Simple One e-scooter will feature 30-liters of underseat storage space, which is 8-litres more than its arch-rival – Ather 450X. It also suggests that its battery pack will likely be located under the footboard. This will help in keeping the center of mass low, which will result in better handling.

  • The brand will also introduce its fast-charging network, called the Simple Loop. In its initial phase, Simple Energy will set up over 300 fast chargers across 13 states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Punjab, and Gujarat. Interestingly, these chargers will be compatible with all kinds of electric scooters (a first-of-its-kind initiative).

  • These charging stations will be capable of energizing the battery for up to 2.5km in just one minute.

  • The Simple One e-scooter will be powered by a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery that will offer a claimed range of 240km in Eco mode. Its top speed will be limited to 100kmph, and it can sprint from 0-50kmph in merely 3.6 seconds.

The Simple One is expected to be priced between Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh. Once launched, it will rival the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube Electric, and the upcoming Ola Scooter
