Tata Motors is set to launch a sportier iteration of the Altroz hatchback in June 2024 called the Altroz Racer. It is expected to be powered by the Nexon’s 120PS turbo-petrol engine and will flaunt numerous cosmetic enhancements inside out to boost its overall appeal. Additionally, the hot-hatch is also likely to feature seven new features over its regular counterpart. Here are the details: –
Bigger Infotainment
The Altroz Racer is expected to borrow a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment from the Nexon SUV that supports wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Currently, the Altroz comes with a Harman-powered 7-inch floating infotainment with wired smartphone integration support.
Proper Digital Driver’s Display
Another feature the new Altroz Racer might borrow from the Nexon is the 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, which will replace the existing semi-digital cluster.
Ventilated Front Seats
The Tata Altroz Racer is expected to feature the segment-first ventilated seat function for the driver and co-passenger seats. This features actually incorporate built-in fans/cooling system within the seat to circulate air through perforation in the seat material to keep the seat cool, especially during hot weathers, and improve comfort in prolonged sitting.
Heads-up Display
The Altroz Racer is likely to receive a heads-up display (HUD), a feature that enhances convenience while driving by projecting essential information directly onto the windshield or a small glass piece placed above the instrument console. It eliminates the need for the driver to divert their gaze from the road, thus improving safety and convenience.
360-degree Camera
Another notable feature that will set the new Tata Altroz Racer apart from the standard model is the 360-degree surround view system. This system helps with parking in tight spaces and manoeuvring in heavy traffic conditions.
Wireless Smartphone Charger
With the convenience of wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, the addition of a wireless smartphone further enhances convenience by completing the ecosystem. Otherwise, you would need to use a wire to charge your smartphone in case of low battery conditions.
Six Airbags
The Altroz Racer is likely to receive six airbags. Currently, the regular Altroz comes with dual-front airbags as standard when it scored a 5-star rating as per the old parameters of the Global NCAP tests. The addition of extra airbags will further enhance the safety quotient.
