Second-gen Kia Sonet Spied Testing; Design Details Revealed

The second-gen Kia Sonet has been spied testing ahead of its expected launch in 2027, revealing several key exterior design details. Let’s take a look at all the details we could observe from the spy images: –

  • Although under heavy camouflage, the overall styling suggests a complete design overhaul.
  • The new Sonet’s fascia looks more upright & wider than before. It appears to feature a larger & more rectangular grille that reminds us of the new-gen Seltos. The bumper also seems to have smoother lines compared to the existing model.
  • The eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs hint at a new split-headlamp setup.
  • The side profile appears more boxier than before, which could free up more headroom for rear passengers. In fact, it is expected to be underpinned by the Syros’ K1 platform, which will help in extracting more space inside the cabin.

  • Towards the rear, the 2027 Sonet is expected to feature a revised tailgate with a new LED tail lamp setup.
  • Expect the compact SUV to also feature a panoramic sunroof in higher variants, while lower variants could continue with the existing single-pane unit.
