Royal Enfield Recalled Over 2.36 Lakh Units Of Bullet 350, Classic 350 And Meteor 350

The cult bike manufacturer Royal Enfield has issued a voluntary recall for the Meteor 350, Classic 350, and Bullet 350 over a potential issue in the ignition coil of these motorcycles, which in certain circumstances can cause misfiring, reduced engine performance, and even an electric short circuit. The defect was found in routine internal testing and caused by a minor mix-up of the material from an external supplier.

As per SIAM's website, a total of 2,29,657 units of these motorcycles have been recalled in India. However, more than 2,36,966 units are being affected worldwide including India, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia. While the individual recalled numbers are unknown at this moment, the affected models were manufactured & sold between December 2020 and April 2021. As per the brand, only an estimated 10% of the vehicles will require part replacement.

Royal Enfield's authorized service centers will soon contact the owners of affected units and set an appointment for the inspection. And, if required, the company will replace the faulty part free of cost. Alternatively, customers can also get in touch with their nearest Royal Enfield dealerships or call the brand's helpline number (1800 210 007).
