Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Launched At Rs 2.39 Lakh

The highly-anticipated Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been launched in India, with prices starting from Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 is essentially a roadster that gets the same 452cc Sherpa engine from its adventure sibling.

Design and Underpinnings

  • The Guerrilla 450 shares design similarities with both the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The front end resembles the Hunter 350 with its round, triple-clamp mounted LED headlight, telescopic fork with gaiters, and round tank design featuring an offset fuel cap. From the midsection to the rear, the bike looks akin to the Himalayan 450, sporting a slim profile, integrated taillight with turn indicators, and a similar exhaust system.
  • Aside from the styling, the bike also shares lots of components with the Himalayan 450.

  • Underpinned on a steel tubular frame, the Guerrilla 450 features a 43mm telescopic fork upfront with 140mm wheel travel and a link-type monoshock with 150mm wheel travel. It possesses a wheelbase of 1440mm and a ground clearance of 169mm, which are 70mm and 61mm less than the Himalayan 450, respectively. Its seat height stands at 780mm, while the fuel tank capacity is 11 litres.
  • Weighing 185kg, the bike is 11kg lighter than the Himalayan 450.
  • The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 120-section front and 160-section rear tubeless tyres.
  • For anchoring, it roadster comes with a 310mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc, with dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS) as standard.

Features

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 comes equipped with an LED lighting system, a 4-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity support, music control, Google map navigation, a type-C USB charging port and ride modes (Eco and Power).

Powertrain

The Guerrilla 450 comes equipped with the same 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Sherpa engine as the Himalayan that belts out 40.02PS of max power at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-&-assist clutch, which enhances rider safety and comfort by preventing rear wheel lockup during aggressive downshifting and reducing the effort needed to operate the clutch lever.
