Renault Triber Turbo To Launch By September End

As we reported back in April 2026, Renault India is all set to address the major shortcoming of the Triber by introducing a turbocharged petrol engine for the MPV by September-end. The same engine will also be offered with a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG kit.

At present, the Renault Triber is available with a 1-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72PS of max power and 97Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine which also powers the brand’s entry-level Kwid hatchback. However, Renault will continue to offer this unit alongside the new 1-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that also does duty on the Kiger and Duster, producing 100PS of peak power & 160Nm of peak torque. It is expected to be offered with both manual and CVT automatic transmission options.

Renault will also move the Triber to an updated version of its CMF-A platform called the RGEP (Renault Group Entry Platform). This will enable the brand to accommodate dual-cylinder CNG tanks within the chassis under the boot floor. As a result, the MPV will continue to offer some usable boot space.

As of now, Renault offers the Triber with a dealer-fitted single-cylinder CNG kit, which can be retrofitted with its manual variants.

While it is not official, we expect Renault to introduce new colour options for the Triber turbo, along with some cosmetic tweaks to denote its sportier nature. We wish the Triber Turbo to feature an all-black cabin scheme, with red highlights.

In terms of pricing, the Renault Triber Turbocharged variants are expected to command a premium of around Rs 90,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh over the naturally aspirated counterparts. For reference, the Triber is currently priced between Rs 5.81 – 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
