The Renault Kwid hatchback gets a new limited-run Neotech Edition ahead of the upcoming festive season. It is based on the RXL variant and gets two dual-tone color options: Zanskar Blue with Silver roof and Silver with Zanskar Blue roof. With this launch, the Kwid has become the only entry-level hatchback to be offered in a dual-tone paint job.
The Kwid Neotech Edition is available with both a 0.8-liter and 1.0-liter petrol engine. The 800cc engine (54PS/72Nm) is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox whereas the 1.0-liter motor (68PS/91Nm) can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
The French automaker has also increased the price of all the variants of Kwid by Rs 5,000. Here’s a complete price list of the Kwid’s lineup:-

How the Neotech Edition is different from its donor variant?
The Neotech editions carry a premium of Rs 30,000 over their respective RXL counterparts. For this premium, the Neotech editions come with dual-tone paint schemes that make them visually apart from the standard variants. Additionally, It also gets blue and silver 3D decals on the C-pillar, updated door claddings with ‘Neotech’ badging, black applique on B-pillar, volcanic grey wheels (similar to the Climber variant), 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, fabric seats with blue inserts & blue stitches & chrome garnishing on the steering wheel and gear knob/AMT dial.
The other notable features include manual AC, front power windows, manually adjustable outside mirrors, 2 speakers (front), Traffic Assistance Mode (AMT Only), theatre dimming cabin light, remote keyless entry with central locking, voice recognition, LED digital instrument cluster, driver & co-driver side sun visor, driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, seat belt reminder, engine immobilizer, front seat belt reminder, etc.
Author's Take
Renault Kwid competes with the likes of Datsun Redi-GO, Maruti Alto & S-Presso. All these cars don't offer the dual-paint scheme. Hence, introducing these color choices make the Kwid a more appealing option in the entry-level segment.
