Ola To Upgrade All S1 Buyers To S1 Pro; Additional Features And Range Can Be Unlocked At Extra Cost

It has been reported that Ola Electric will upgrade all S1 buyers to the S1 Pro. Customers who have booked/purchased the Ola S1 will receive a scooter equipped with the same hardware as the S1 Pro, including the larger battery pack of 3.97kWh at no extra cost. However, there is a catch.

Buyers will have to pay an additional amount of Rs 30,000 to unlock all the supplementary features, extended range, and higher speeds of the S1 Pro only if they wish to enjoy the full potential of the e-scooter in the future. This will be done through a software update. However, it is worth noting that the bigger battery pack will make your scooter 4kg heavier than promised weight, and it will definitely affect your range to some extent if you do not opt for the software upgrade.

For those who aren't aware, the Ola S1 Pro offers better acceleration (0-40kmph in just 3 seconds) and a claimed range of 181 kilometers in a single charge with a top speed of 115kmph, 60 kilometers and 25kmph more than the base-spec S1. In addition, it also gets a slew of smart features like voice assistant, cruise control, Hyper riding mode, and hill-hold assist over the Ola S1. However, some of these features will be available by June 2022 through an OTA update.

In other updates, Ola has started establishing its fast-charging network (Hypercharger) at key BPCL petrol pumps and residential complexes across the nation. with an aim to have over 4,000 charging points by the end of 2022.
