Unveiled last year on the same date, Ola Electric’s entry-level S1 scooter is now available for sale at Rs 99,999. Interested customers can now reserve one at Rs 499 before the commencement of the early access purchase window on September 1 and the regular purchase window on September 2. Deliveries of the scooter will begin on September 7, 2022.
For those who aren’t aware, the Ola S1 series of electric scooters comprising S1 and S1 Pro was revealed on 15th August 2021. However, customers who had booked the entry-level S1 electric scooter were upgraded to S1 Pro electric scooter without any added cost but with the ‘Pro’ features locked. But interested customers can now purchase the base-spec S1 e-scooter that gets a 3kWh of battery pack instead of the S1 Pro’s 4kWh unit, with an ARAI-tested claimed range of 141 kilometers on a single charge. It comes with three riding modes (Eco, Normal & Sports) and has a top speed of 95kmph. That said, it misses out on the Hyper Mode that you get with the S1 Pro model which offers a top speed of 115kmph.

Design-wise, the Ola S1 looks similar to its elder sibling. However, it only comes in 5 color options: Porcelain White, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black, and Liquid Silver.
In terms of features, it gets all the premium features of the S1 Pro except for the cruise control. That means, it gets a dedicated companion mobile app with remote lock/unlock functionality, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, a music system, OTA updates support, reverse assist, onboard navigation, and more.
New Khaki Color For Ola S1 Pro
On the special eve of our 76th Independence day, Ola electric has also introduced a unique ‘Khaki’ color for the S1 Pro electric scooter. Only 1947 units of this special color model will be produced. So hurry up if you want one.

Ola Electric Car Incoming
Ola has also teased its upcoming electric car that will be launched in 2024. The brand claims that it will be India’s one of the fastest EVs with 0 to 100kmph within 4 seconds. It will have a range of over 500 kilometers per charge.
Teasers of the upcoming Ola electric car also reveal that its highly aerodynamic coupe design will offer a best-in-class drag coefficient of less than 0.21. It will be a handleless car that will run on the brand’s MoveOS with assisted driving capabilities.
Ola’s electric car will be produced at its reimagined Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, which at its full scale will produce a million cars, 10 million two-wheelers, and 100 GWh cells every year.
Ola’s Battery Innovation Centre
Ola Electric has also unveiled its new Battery Innovation Center (BIC). Spread over half a million sq feet, this facility is equipped for battery research & development, and prototype production.

Hypercharging Stations
In a series of announcements, the homegrown EVmaker has also stated to launch over 100 hyper charging stations across the top 50 cities of the country. The charging network will be expanded to other cities in the future.
