Nissan Tekton To Be Revealed On July 9

Nissan India has announced the debut date for the Tekton SUV, which is July 9, 2026. This will mark its return to the mid-size SUV segment after the discontinuation of the Nissan Kicks in 2023.

What Is Nissan Tekton?

  • The Nissan Tekton will be the brand’s first all-new product as part of its revival plans.
  • It will share its underpinnings and powertrain with the recently launched Renault Duster.

Nissan Tekton – Exterior Design

  • Its exterior design will be totally different from its donor model, especially at the front & rear ends. In fact, it will take some of the design cues from the flagship Nissan Patrol SUV, available on sale in select international markets.
  • Upfront, the Tekton will get Nissan Patrol-inspired facia, featuring a large rectangular grille with two chrome strips and a connected LED light bar on top of it. It also features a sculpted bonnet for a tougher appearance, C-shaped LED projector headlamps, and a dual-tone bumper with chunky grey cladding, giving it a rough look.
  • While its silhouette looks largely similar to the Duster, it features a distinct alloy wheel design and door trims.
  • The rear features a connected LED tail-lamp setup, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a chunkier dual-tone bumper.

Interior Design and Features

Nissan Tekton interior
  • Going by the design sketches, the Nissan Tekton is expected to feature a triple-tone cabin theme, with a gloss black panel and brass-coloured stip covering the width of the dash.
  • For creature comfort, it is expected to share its feature list with the Duster. The key amenities will include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, powered & ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake (EPB), front & rear parking sensors, and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite.

What Will Power The Nissan Tekton?

  • Powering the Nissan Tekton will be two direct injection turbocharged petrol engines of 1.0-litre (100PS/166Nm) and 1.3-litre (160PS/280Nm) displacements.
  • While a 6-speed manual will be standard on both engines, the 1.3-litre unit will also get a 6-speed DCT automatic transmission.
  • It remains to be seen whether the Duster’s 1.8-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine (160PS/172Nm) will also be offered with the Tekton at the time of its launch.
