Nissan Revealed Its New Logo

In order to mark a ‘Key Milestone’ in Nissan’s transformation plans, it has unveiled a brand new minimalistic logo. The revised logo will symbolise the company’s effort in order to recover from a tarnished image post the Carlos Ghosn Scandal.

Talking about the new logo, the company said that the new logo marks the company’s plans ahead while proudly staying connected to company’s rich heritage and tradition of innovation. The 2021 Nissan Ariya EV will be the first car to get the updated Nissan badging.

The New Nissan Logo

The new logo still sits inside a circle that is cleanly intersected by the brand name, written in capital letters. The brand name now seems a lot freer and lesser physical engagement with the circle. Other prominent changes include increased spacing among the characters and also unlike the previous logo, the updated one gets a small gap with the brand name intersecting with the truncated circle.

Official Company Statement

Nissan EV’s Europe head, Helen Perry said:-

It’s no coincidence that the launch of the Ariya and the new logo are happening at the same time. This really is the moment of change and a new era for Nissan.

She further added:-

The logo itself has maintained the sun and bar design element. The logo really brings forward the new mobility and electrification strategies that we have going forward as well as reflecting that the brand is more transparent, more human, more re-energised than we have seen of late.

Many Car Companies Have Updated Their Logos

Many prominent global car manufacturers have been introducing the updated logos in the new day and age of electric cars. Last year, VW unveiled a brand new logo with its popular EV offerings, BMW has also showed a new two-dimensional logo in the earlier parts of 2020. A simple and minimal logo was introduced to convey “openness and clarity”.
