Nissan Gravite Turns Eco-Friendly With New CNG Version

Nissan India has launched the Gravite with a retrofit CNG kit, priced at an additional cost of Rs 82,999 over the ex-showroom price of the 7-seater MPV. For reference, the Nissan Gravite currently range from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 8.93 lakh (ex-showroom).

As mentioned above, the Nissan Gravite CNG is being offered with a dealer-level CNG kit, which comprises two 25-litre tanks, stacked horizontally, one over the other. This leaves no usable space inside the boot. However, its flexible seating configuration allows you to remove the third-row seats to create some luggage space when they are not in use.

Nissan is also providing a 3-year/1 lakh km third-party warranty on the kit components.

Nissan Gravite CNG: Engine and Mileage

Powering the Nissan Gravite CNG will be the same 1-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine as the regular model, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Nissan is yet to reveal its engine outputs, but it is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 24km/kg. And unlike the regular model, it skips the 5-speed AMT option.

For now, the CNG kit for Gravite is available across 60 cities in 16 states of the country.

Renault Triber To Get Underbody Dual-Cylinder CNG Kit

Similar to the Gravite, the Triber is also being offered with a dealer-level retrofit CNG kit. However, it will be offered with a factory-fitted dual-cylinder underbody CNG kit, which will also leave some space for your luggage inside the boot. This has been achieved through a reengineered platform, whereas the Nissan Gravite continues to use the older architecture.
