New Tata Tigor EV Launched At Rs 12 Lakh

The all-new Tata Tigor EV has finally made its entry to the EV market for private buyers, with prices ranging between Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 13.14 lakh. With this, it has become the most affordable high-range electric vehicle in our market. The brand has offered it in three variants. Here are the details: –

New Tata Tigor EV – Battery, Range and Charging Time

The main highlight of the Tigor EV is its new Ziptron high-voltage 300V+ architecture that uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that comes paired to a single-speed transmission and produces 75PS and 170Nm, that's 41PS/105Nm higher than its commercial offering Xpres-T. Tata claims the new Tigor EV can hit 0-60kmph in 5.7 seconds.

The electrified Tigor is claimed to deliver a range of 306km, supported by an IP67 rated 26kWh battery pack which gets an 8-year/1.60 lakh km warranty. It also comes with an impact-resistant casing for added protection. With the help of a 50kW DC fast charger, it can be energized from 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes, while an AC home charger takes around 8.5 hours for the same.

In terms of design, the new Tigor EV looks similar to its gasoline-powered counterpart, save for the same EV-specific design elements like a closed-off grille, redesigned 15-inch hyperstyle wheels, and a few blue inserts to differentiate it from the standard model. The blue accents continue inside the cabin as well. However, all the other elements remain identical to its petrol-powered version. 

The Tigor EV comes with plenty of features such as projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 30+ iRA connected car technology, a premium Harman sound system (4-speakers + 4-tweeters), a digital instrument cluster, auto climate control, auto-folding ORVMs, height-adjustable driver's seat, PEPS key with push-button start, etc.

Safety equipment on board includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, seat belt reminder, high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors with a reversing camera. In fact, it has also has achieved a 4-star safety rating for both adult and child occupants in a recent crash test conducted by the Global NCAP.
