For those of you awaiting the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia in India, we have some good news to cheer you up. Skoda Auto India's Director, Sales, and Marketing, Zac Hollis has recently revealed that the next-gen Octavia will be hit the Indian dealerships in a couple of months and its deliveries will start shortly after its launch.
The new Octavia has already been spotted testing in India without any camouflage. It gets a redesigned exterior and interior with an added set of features. It is 19mm longer and 15mm wider than the previous model; however, the wheelbase remains identical at 2,686mm. In terms of design, it sports conventional single-piece LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs replacing the split headlight setup being offered with the outgoing Octavia. It also gets a slimmer but wider butterfly grille with a chrome surround. The car sits on 17-inch “Rotare Aero” Alloys.
The 2021 Skoda Octavia will also feature an all-new interior. It is expected to get a 10.25 inches Virtual-Cockpit digital instrumentation cluster, 10-inch free-standing infotainment system with connected car technology, three-zone climate control, heads-up display, wireless smartphone charger, and also a digital assistant named ‘Laura’. It is also likely to replace the traditional gear lever with a switch.
Unlike the previous generation models, the new Octavia will now come with a petrol engine only. It is likely to get two turbocharged petrol engine options – a 150PS 1.5-litre TSI paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 190PS 2.0-litre TSI which is likely to come paired up with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The new Skoda Octavia is expected to be priced around Rs 17 lakh. Once launched, the Octavia will be positioned against the Hyundai Elantra.
