New MG Astor Key Features Revealed; Launch Expected In Coming Weeks

MG Motor India has recently unveiled the impressive Level-2 ADAS and personal AI assistant technology that will be on offer with its upcoming Astor SUV. Now, more features details of this Hyundai Creta-rivaling SUV have surfaced on the webs ahead of its launch in the festive season.

A recent report by cardekho suggests that the MG Astor will be equipped with features like full-LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, rain-sensing wipers, digital driver's display, and 3-steering modes. Besides, features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, 9-element LED DRLs, rear washer & wiper, and the rear defogger will be standard across its entire variant line.

Furthermore, the brand is also expected to offer the Astor SUV with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist, a 360-degree camera, and up to six airbags. And as revealed earlier, it will also get a level-2 advanced driver assistance system that will include active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, high-beam assists, rear-drive assist, speed assist system, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot detection.  

MG is expected to provide the Astor with a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol motor (160PS/230Nm) with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options. It could also borrow a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol (106PS/141Nm) engine from its UK-spec version. 

We expect MG Astor to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster, and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and Mahindra XUV700
