Austrian bike manufacturer, KTM has launched the new 125 Duke motorcycle in India at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to the previous model, its price has gone up by Rs 7,552. And for this premium, the updated model gets a wholly distinct styling, new features, and some additional changes.

2021 KTM 125 Duke – What's New?

All-new KTM 125 Duke looks largely similar to its elder sibling, 390 Duke. It gets a larger fuel tank (11 litres to 13.5 litres) with new sharper extensions, and a new bolt-on sub-frame, giving the bike a much aggressive & sporty character. It also features a modish rider and pillion seat setup, which helps to improve the riding ergonomics. Additionally, the brand has sculpted the new fuel tank in such a way that it offers more generous leg contact.

KTM has also offered a new set of suspension system at both ends. The updated 125 Duke now sports a 32mm WP inverted fork with a triple-rate spring at front, and a 10-step preload-adjustable WP rear monoshock with a double rate spring.

Due to all these changes, the bike's weight has gone up by 7kgs, standing at 159kg in the newer model. The saddle height has also been increased from 818mm to 823mm.

Colours Options

As far as the paint schemes are concerned, the new 125 Duke will be available in two colours: Electronic Orange & Ceramic White.

Engine & Other Specifications

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the rest of the mechanicals are retained the same. The baby Duke continues to be powered by the older 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine that produces 14.5PS at 9,250rpm and 12Nm at 8000rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Braking duties, on the other hand, will be supervised by a 300mm front disc with a Bosch's single-channel ABS and a 230mm rear disc. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped with tubeless MRF tyres.

Rivals

The KTM 125 Duke enjoys the title of being the most powerful bike of the 125cc segment. It has no direct rival in the Indian market, as most of the 125cc motorcycles are of commuter category, whereas the Duke is a premium performance-oriented streetfighter, giving competition to a segment above bikes like TVS Apache RTR 200V and Yamaha MT-15.
