A few weeks ago, Renault and Nissan disclosed their plans to launch four new SUVs in India, including two models based on the localised CMF-B platform. Now, sources have revealed some new developments about these upcoming Renault-Nissan utility vehicles: –
- Renault-Nissan aims to elevate their upcoming crossovers to feel and perform like vehicles from higher segments.
- This project represents the brands’ most ambitious projects in India, with senior management directly overseeing development.
- Unlike the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite duo, which have distinct designs despite sharing a platform, the new CMF-B SUVs will optimize economies of scale by sharing most of the sheet metal. However, elements such as bumpers and grilles will be customized to give each model a unique visual identity.
- Each car will feature unique interiors while incorporating shared components.

- Both SUVs are likely to get two turbocharged petrol engines, with as many as four gearbox choices.
- The car manufacturers are also considering the potential launch of 4×4 and 7-seater derivatives at a later stage.
- While their launch timelines are yet to be revealed, the 5-seater models are anticipated to go on sale sometime in 2025.
- Expect their prices to start from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Once launched, they will compete with likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun.
