New BS6 Kawasaki Versys 1000 Launched

The compulsion of BS-6 compliance norms has meant that companies have enforced extensive updates on their existing product line.

All the prominent 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler manufacturers have been launching these vehicles from the start of 2020.

The latest entrant into this list is Kawasaki, as they have recently launched the BS-6 compliant version of Kawasaki’s flagship touring bike, the Versys 1000.

The last time Versys received an update was back in October 2019, which merely included the addition of a new paint scheme into the mix.

The update means that the price of the bike is expected to increase by Rs. 10,000.

More about Versys 1000

Engine

Versys 1000 is the flagship offering from the company, apart from the BS-6 update, there is no major change in the motorcycle.

The in-line 4-cylinder engine unit on offer produces the same output figures as before. This engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission.

The rejigged BS-6 compliant engine happens to be a 1043 cc unit and has a power equivalent of 120 Horses. The maximum torque output figures stand at 102 Nm.

Being a premium offering, the bike comes equipped with an electronic throttle valve that ensures pretty smooth performance.

Kawasaki has also put a lot of thought in designing as it gets a lot of rider-friendly ergonomics like the conveniently placed power socket.

It comes in a couple of colour options- Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black and Pearl Stardust White/Metallic Spark Black.
