Nearly All Details of The New Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 Revealed

The highly-anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is all set to debut on November 7, 2023. But before its arrival, the bikemaker has disclosed some crucial details about this forthcoming adventure motorcycle.

Let’s start with the new powertrain: –

Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 engine specifications (specs)

Sherpa 450 Engine

  • For the all-new Himalayan 452, Royal Enfield has introduced a new 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine called the ”SHERPA 450”, capable of yielding 40PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 40Nm at 5,000 rpm.
  • It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper-&-assist clutch to enhance its touring credentials.
  • Compared to the existing Himalayan’s 411cc, the new Sherpa 450 motor offers approximately 16PS more power and 8Nm more torque.
  • In a familiar Royal Enfield manner, this new mill has also been tuned for a strong low-end torque output. In fact, it will provide 35Nm of torque at as low as 3,000 rpm.

New Chassis, Assertive Underpinnings

  • Royal Enfield announces that it has developed an entirely new chassis for the Himalayan 452, which will be suspended on the long-travel Showa-sourced USD forks in the front and a swingarm-mounted monoshock at the rear.
  • The bike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, notably fitted with tubeless tyres.
  • For anchoring duties, it gets disc brakes at both ends, assisted by a switchable Antilock Braking System (ABS).
  • Revealed by an earlier leaked image, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be 2245 mm long, with a wheelbase of 1510 mm. The bike will have a gross weight of 394 kg.

Refreshed Styling and New Features

  • Design-wise, the Himalayan 452 has a modern appearance, incorporating revised styling elements, such as a new fuel tank, reworked side panels, new exhaust pipe, and redrafted braces. However, bits like a round headlamp with a short windscreen and a front crash guard have been retained from the outgoing model.
  • The other notable inclusions comprise an all-LED lighting system, ride-by-wire technology, a new split seat setup, and a new circular single-pod TFT instrument cluster with connected technology, Google Maps support, call/music control, compass and much more.
  • Features like the rear luggage rack and exoskeletons for mounting jerry cans have been retained from the ongoing model.
