MG Windsor EV To Debut On This Date In India

The MG Windsor EV is set to break cover on September 11th, 2024. It will be the brand’s third electric offering in the country that will be positioned above the Comet EV.

For those unaware, the Windsor EV is essentially a rebadged version of the Cloud EV, which also comes under the umbrella of the Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor Corporation as MG Motor.

The MG Windsor EV will be a Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) that will combine the comfort of a sedan with the practicality of the SUV. It features a minimalist and clean design, complemented by smooth, aerodynamic lines that create a clean and streamlined appearance. One of the recent teases of this upcoming EV reveals that it will feature leatherette upholstery, with up to a 135-degree reclining angle for the seats to enhance the overall cabin comfort and experience.

Regarding features, this upcoming electric crossover is expected to feature a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, power-adjustable front seats, a powered tailgate, six airbags, a 360-degree surround view system, ESC and ADAS suite.

MG Windsor EV – Expected Battery Pack and Range

Technical specifications of the MG Windsor EV is yet to be revealed. However, the Wuling Cloud EV comes with two battery choices globally: a 37.9kWh pack with a 360km range and a 50.6kWh pack with a 460km range. It comes equipped with a front-axle mounted permanent magnet synchronous (PMS) motor belting out 134PS of max grunt.

Expected Price and Rivals

We anticipate MG to price the Windosr EV under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
