The 2024 Jawa 42 has been launched in India with an upgraded engine, revised suspension setup, improved ergonomics and new colourways. With this, the bike now ranges between Rs 1.73 lakh and Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom), making it roughly Rs 16,200 more affordable than its predecessor.
2024 Jawa 42 – What’s New?
- For starters, the Jawa 42 gets a new 294cc, liquid-cooled J-Panther engine that produces 27.32PS of max power and 26.84Nm, the same as before. However, the company claims that it has optimised throttle mapping and gearing (mainly the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears) for improved driveability. The bike also gets a slip-&-assist clutch that makes gear shifting smooth and reduces rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifting, improving overall riding control and comfort.
- A new hub-type balancer gear and redesigned balancer weight have also been added to reduce vibrations, offering the smoothest and most exhilarating ride yet.
- The bikemaker has also introduced six new vibrant colours for the 2024 model: Vega White, Odyssey Black, Asteroid Grey, Voyager Red, Nebula Blue and Celestial Copper Matte. With this, the new Jawa 42 is now available in a total of 14 colour options.
- Jawa has also retuned the telescopic fork and gas-charged twin shock absorbers to make the bike more comfortable.
- The single-piece seat now has better padding and gets more foam as well.
- Jawa claims the ground clearance has also been improved.
