About MG Hector SUV

MG gave the Hector a facelift update in December 2025, introducing subtle design changes, new colour options and added features to freshen things up. It comes equipped with amenities like a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, Infinity sound system, panoramic sunroof, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 8-colour ambient lighting, auto-dimming IRVM, powered & ventilated front seats, 7-inch driver’s display, wireless smartphone charger, air purifier, powered tailgate, cruise control and 360-degree camera.

Passengers’ safety is ensured by six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, front & rear parking sensors, ESC, hill assist, and a level-2 ADAS.

Mechanically, the MG Hector comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The gasoline mill is a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit (143PS/250Nm) paired with 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmissions, while the oil burner is a 2-litre turbocharged mill (170PS/350Nm), mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, it is worth noting that the diesel engine is exclusive to the Hector Plus Sharp Pro (O) 7-seater variant, priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Speaking of the competition, the Hector SUV takes on the likes of the Tata Harrier & Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV 7XO.
