MG Hector Plus Diesel Gets Back On Sale At Rs 20 Lakh

Back in December 2025, MG Motor India gave the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs a mid-life facelift update. However, at that time, only the prices for the petrol variants were announced. Now, 7 months later, the carmaker has brought back the diesel variants on sale, priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

For diesel, MG has introduced a new Sharp Pro (O) 7-seater variant, positioning it below the range-topping Savvy Pro trim. Earlier, the Hector diesel was offered in both two-row and three-row seating configurations; however, now it is restricted to a single variant only.

Engine Specifications

Powering the Hector diesel is the same 2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170PS of max power and 350Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic transmission on offer.

MG Hector Plus Sharp Pro (O): Features Onboard

Regarding features, the new Sharp Pro (O) flaunts a dual-tone tan-and-black theme inside the cabin, and comes equipped with amenities like panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, LED fog lamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker Infinity sound system with a subwoofer & amplifier, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, powered & ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents on the 2nd and 3rd rows, and auto-dimming IRVM.

Safety features include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Compared to the top-spec Savvy Pro variant, the new Sharp Pro (O) trim misses out on features like a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, a PM2.5 air purifier, and Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Competition Check

The MG Hector Plus faces competition from the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari; all of these are available in multiple variants with both petrol and diesel engine options.
