To mark the first sales anniversary of the Gloster SUV in the Indian market, MG Motor has organized a 4×4 driving experience for enthusiast customers. More than 50 families participated in the event to experience the Gloster going through curated tracks, comprising several complex conditions like articulations, hill climbing & descent, water wading, etc.
MG offers the Gloster in four variants (Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy) across two seating configurations (6-seater and 7-seater). Its top-end trim comes equipped with a host of premium features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, three-zone climate control with a PM2.5 filter, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-way adjustable driver seat with memory function, 64 color ambient lighting, and a first-in-segment Autonomous Level 1 active safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and Automatic Parking Assist, amongst others like forwarding Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).
The Gloster gets two diesel engines: a 2.0-liter turbocharged (163PS/375Nm) and a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged (218PS/480Nm). Both mills come paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While the former engine gets a rear-wheel drivetrain, the more powerful twin-turbo mill gets an all-wheel-drive system with a dedicated rear differential and BorgWarner transfer case, along with seven driving modes, namely Snow, Mud, Sand, Eco, Sport, Normal, and Rock.
Currently, the MG Gloster is priced from Rs 29.98 lakh to Rs 37.68 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and rivals the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, and Isuzu mu-X.
